Sound research

recording, research, sound production, sounding sculptures
Supervision under Anke Eckardt 2018

The hidden power is a research-based artistic project about the intersubjective (according to Holger Schulze) perception, of soundscapes (after R. Murray Schäfer), in a period of three months. The field of research was the island of Jamaica. Different habitats were investigated (dry and wet forest areas) of insects and birds.
Space – Time – Consciousness – Dream – Individual – Masses
In a three-month research stay a collection of material was created from pressed plants, recordings of the habitats microphones, videos and photographs.
To support the visual and sound structure, two sculptural objects serve as loudspeakers. The sound aesthetics is thereby in an organic and thus more natural way.The visual language of form through the material concrete symbolises the human influence on nature and the transience of of the living space. The material acts as a loudspeaker and filter.
